Illusions of Competence
This well-crafted video touches on several Mep themes including Chess, Debate, and the habits of the incompetent. It seems to have been inspired entirely by board trolls, which may be their first ever positive (though second-hand) contribution to mankind.
First question: who are these “professional comedians” and why would they find that joke, which is so old, the funniest?
Second question: why would they assume the smarter people naturally underestimate themselves? maybe they just follow the teachings of Socrates. Didn’t he set out to learn with the assumption of his own lack of knowledge.
