DirecTV Profits Off of the Dead

I’d love to have been a fly on the wall in the DirectTV board meeting where they approved the brilliant idea of desecrating the memory of Chris Farley so that their company’s stock can rise a few points. Bonus to the artist formerly known as David Spade for going along with this.

Update: Favored consumer protection website, Consumerist, picked us up on this one. Well done, lads.

And, Yahoo’s TV blog follows suit. No linky though. For shame.

    It’s not the first time, and won’t be the last time that the dead are expoited to schill products.

    DirecTV should be happy with Monkey’s and Ed Begley. He’s alive isn’t he?
