    In fairness, it hasn’t “failed” yet. Finance was never going to pass a public option. In fact, the surprising closeness of the vote is a pretty clear signal that a public option is likely to end up in the final bill out of Congress. Why the Max Baucuses of the world don’t understand how to read a poll in the first place–or care about health care–is, as always, another question entirely.
