The Equine Child

I found myself driving to Vitamin World last week, when this health-related interview serendipitously appeared on NPR. It delves into the story behind the popular novel “The Horse Boy,” a tale of an unusual family’s search for treatment for their autistic child.

The interview touches on many health-related Mep-centric themes, including not taking the word of doctors as gospel (see the 85% theory), seeking outside of the box treatments, and trusting yourself to be your own best advocate. It’s worth a listen. Below, you’ll find the trailer to the recently-released documentary.

  1. I emailed this video to the Don Imus radio show. Imus runs a not-for-profit ranch for “kids with cancer”. His wife Deidre has been involved with autistic children for many years.
