Emunion

Just wanted to announce that on Monday, the world exploded.

After seven years and twenty-five days of never being in the same place at the same time, the original Meppers (Russ, Greg, and myself) reunited at Eagle Studios in the Bronx. Clea was also there and also thus broke a 2,582-day streak of the four of us not being in the same place, either.

I have spent much time with Russ, he with Greg, and Greg with me, but never have all three (and Clea makes four) of us actually spent time together in person since we vacated the Mep House in Waltham, Massachusetts on July 30, 2002.

At that time, the Curse of the Bambino was still active, no one had heard of the housing bubble or collapse, GW Bush had over 80% of his presidency ahead of him, and no one had heard of podcasting. Russ spent most of his time playing Dark Age of Camelot, Greg had yet to teach a class outside of his PhD program, and I had never worked a full-time day job for more than a summer.

Or perhaps you should just know that 2,582 days from Monday will be September 18, 2016.

Hopefully we’ll all see each other again before then.

In the meantime, however, you can look forward to the first ever full video Mep Report, which we recorded on Monday night. It will be released concurrently in both audio and video formats, sometime before 2016.
